ONE DAY UNTIL THE JAMBOREE!!!
I can't believe tomorrow is Friday! Many parents who volunteer their time to the school have been working on overdrive this past week, not only organizing the Honeybee Jamboree, but also Teacher Appreciation Week. As we continued to plan for the big Jamboree for this Saturday, we were also able to celebrate and give back to our caring, hard-working and dedicated teachers with a Apple Day on Monday: homemade apple muffins, apple cake and apple pie; a Snack Day on Tuesday: cheeses, crackers, fruit, and more; a home-cooked spaghetti and meatballs lunch on Wednesday: no kidding, I cooked it at home and wheeled it over in a stroller. Today, the teachers received single roses wrapped and hand-delivered in front of the whole school, as well as another homemade cake: strawberry with cream cheese strawberry frosting. YUM!
Tomorrow is the grand finale as we heat up the griddle for our 2nd annual Principal Pancake Breakfast. Yes, Mr. Tang will don an apron and flip some flapjacks for his deserving staff. This was Mr. Tang's idea last year. He really wanted to cook for the teachers. And as he is no kind of slacker, he scrambled up some eggs as well!
With our bellies full, the teachers will go back to teach and we parent volunteers, a.k.a., the PTO, will get back to preparing for the HONEYBEE JAMBOREE!! This is our last day to set up, gather our last promised sponsorships and pre-sell the tickets! We will sell tickets on the day of the Jamboree as well, but this is the last chance to get them at a pre-sell discounted rate. You save up to 25% by buying in advance.
Tickets are good for all the games and food (except the bubble tea) and can even buy you an all-day pass on the jumpy slide!
We also have raffle tickets with some great prizes to win: cash prizes, restaurant gift certificates, spa gift certificates and more! You do not need to be present to win in the raffle, so buy your tickets online, sit back and win, win, win! Click here to buy your tickets!

Jean Parker ES Students and Parents Celebrate Teacher Appreciation Week!
Jean Parker students fill out Thank You cards |
It's Teacher Appreciation Week at Jean Parker ES. When me and my girls got to school today we saw one of my girls’ classmates in the office, writing a thank you card for a teacher at our school, on his own initiative! This is the second day we have put out Teacher Thank You cards* for students and parents to sign, and if they weren’t free, we’d be selling these things like hotcakes!
I know our teachers are great… there are SO MANY TEACHERS that are great! And, I’m so happy that our little project (making and printing cards, and “staffing” a table each morning this week) is creating a way for so many students and families to share their appreciation for the wonderful work teachers do each day at our school.
THANK YOU!
THANK YOU!
THANK YOU!
I will be writing many thank you cards for the teachers at our school. Nonetheless, there are no words for me to truly express my gratitude for the time, thoughtfulness, and love you share with my girls and ALL the children and families at our school. I hope you have a great WEEK! and EVEN BETTER summer (It’s only 4 weeks away!)
So, if you haven't done so already, come to our table in the morning, or in the main office during or after school to fill out your teacher Thank You's TODAY! You can fill out as many cards as you like for as many teachers you wish--the more the better! We want to show every teacher at Jean Parker ES how much we care! You can put your completed card in the envelope with his or her name on the posts around the yard. (Ask Mr. Tang or Ms. Lee if you have any questions.)
We are filling out cards ALL WEEK!

For other great ideas on ways to celebrate Teacher Appreciation Day! It’s not too late!
Click here to print out FREE Teacher Thank You Printables (shown above), or to get other ideas to celebrate.
* I'd like to send a special SHOUT OUT to Kelli from Staples who helped me print the cards and gave me a great discount so we could print more cards for all the teachers. THANK YOU!!!
What are you doing to celebrate Teacher Appreciation Week?

It's THIS SATURDAY!
The Honeybee Jamboree is THIS SATURDAY!
This is it, the last mile, the home stretch! We have been doing overtime to get our final donors and even more fantastic auction items and raffle prizes. Yesterday, Romina, owner of Cinecitta Pizzeria in North Beach, agreed to donate a gift certificate to us and just today, Ness, the manager at Naia Gelateria also offered us a gift certificate for our Jamboree. Just think, you could be having authentic Italian pizza and gelato for dessert if you get the winning bid or hold the winning raffle ticket!
There are many amazing auction items up for bid, such as a 2-night stay at ANY Kimpton Hotel in the U.S. Also, for a staycation, a 1-night stay at the Marriott downtown. Couple that with one of the many delicious restaurants who have contributed and you have a swanky get away a mile from your house.
Everyone is invited to our Honeybee Jamboree. It is Jean Parker School's end-of-year celebration and our biggest fundraiser of the year. It is a great family friendly event with free balloons for the children (while they last!), jumpy houses, carnival games, food and more. Bring the family out for a little neighborhood fun and win some great prizes while you're at it.
You can click here to buy tickets or to just make a much appreciated donation. (You do not need to be present to win a raffle prize.)
